Today on the eat your way across Guyana Tour: Pepperpot. A local dish and a favorite for Christmas time. Originally from the Amerindians, our indigenous people, it is stewed meat cooked in a sauce derived from cassava called casreep. Look, yeh, it’s good to us. One of the Guyanese Rotary club members shared with me that the indigenous people will keep a pot of pepperpot going for a hundred years or more. Yes, any type of hunted meat goes in the stew.
